Leisure time

Leisure time

It’s easy to keep the whole family happy in North East Lincolnshire. Whether you’re looking to discover our local heritage and wildlife, enjoy the sandy beaches or indulge in arts and crafts, we have lots to keep the entire family entertained.

Get Active

Working out at a gym

There are lots of first class public and private facilities available to suit every budget. Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Immingham Leisure Centres are all popular, providing excellent activities including swimming, a range of modern fitness classes, gym sessions and racquet courts for squash and badminton. For 24 hour access check out Pure Gym in Grimsby.

If you fancy getting your skates on, the ice rink at Grimsby Leisure Centre provides ice hockey lessons, family skate sessions and disco sessions, as well as ice hockey matches for our local teams.

Family Time

The Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre gives you the chance to find out what life was like for our fishermen years ago. There’s also a range of indoor play areas for younger visitors.

Interested in the history of the area? How’s about a visit to the Time Trap museum in Grimsby’s historic town hall?

Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway, built in 1948, transports happy families from the leisure centre for a two mile run down to a station at the south of the resort. Why not also have a pint in pub next door to the station?

Have a look around Trip Advisor or our sister site Visit Cleethorpes for plenty of other ideas about things to do whilst you’re in the area.

Something for the nature lovers

Discovery centre

For children of all ages and nature lovers, why not check out the boating lake in Cleethorpes. Alternatively, why not have a lazy stroll on the beach or visit the boating lake? Both favourites with locals and visitors alike!

Pamper Time

Private gyms and health spas in both Grimsby and Cleethorpes offer state of the art facilities. Oasis Gym in Grimsby offers a range of health and beauty facilities, as well as physiotherapy.

If you prefer to take things a little easier, then try visiting the spa at Bannatyne Health Club & Spa and relax in the jacuzzi, or why not try a treatment at the Attic Spa in Grimsby? Both are ideal to wind down after a long day and have a bit of time to yourself.
