Christmas in North East Lincolnshire

Christmas and the winter months are delightful times to visit North East Lincolnshire and enjoy the festivities.

We’ve exciting events to suit all ages, great places to shop, including unique, independent boutiques and fun leisure activities for all the family.

We invite you to enjoy our charming coastline. Our beach welcomes everyone, whatever the time of year.   We’ve cosy cafes in which to warm up after a bracing walk or cycle. Four legged friends are equally welcome.

Winter is a wonderful time to see North East Lincolnshire’s wildlife. Bring your binoculars as it is a great place to see numerous species of birds out on the water. As the gateway of the Humber Estuary, our coastline is important to a wide variety    birds, providing a vital staging post for over 150,000 migratory birds. Ornithologists regard it as one of the top 10 estuaries in Europe.  Nearby Tetney Marshes covers over 1,500 hectares of coastal mudflats, salt marsh, dunes and lagoons and can hold up to 30,000 waders at certain times of the year.  The importance of the Humber Estuary was recognised in 1988 and has been noted as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).  A few miles down the coast, visit Donna Nook nature reserve, a 10km stretch which is often used by the Royal Air Force as a bombing range. Every November and December, grey seals come to the Donna Nook coastline to give birth to their pups near the sand dunes; a wildlife spectacle attracting visitors from across the UK.

If you fancy getting away this Christmas, there is a great choice of accommodation in North East Lincolnshire. Choose from unique country hotels to guest houses and boutique B&Bs. Or stay at a self-catering, where the whole family can get together.
